UltimateBet, the well known online poker site, has recently made known that this year’s UltimateBet Poker Classic will be hosted again for the sixth consecutive year at the popular Caribbean resort of Aruba. George MacLean, representing UltimateBet says that his company will be bringing the Aruba Poker Classic back once again to Aruba this September. To make things really interesting, the prize pool is said to be estimated at $2.5 million making this year’s experience bigger, better and hotter than ever.
UltimateBet is also making available to online poker players the opportunity to win a $8,500 Aruba prize package. This is done through a series of freerolls and paid for satellites. Included in this prize package is the $5,500 main event seat along with a generous $3,000 for travel and accommodations.
When Devon Miller won in 2006, he took home with him grand prizes to the tune of $774,960 in cash. There are an estimated number of 750 players participating this year meaning that the grand prize is sure to be much larger.
This tournament takes place for a week in the sun and this year it is scheduled to take place between September 23rd and September 30th. At the event online poker players will be able to compete with poker’s best professionals and test their poker smarts. In the past the Aruba Poker Classic participants have been Phil “The Unabomber”, Laak and Annie Duke, Phil Hellmuth, and Jennifer Tilly. Following his win at VH1’s Rock Stars of Poker, Scott Ian from Anthrax has already made sure his seat in this year’s event.
AbsolutePoker is another way this year that players can qualify for the well known UltimateBet event – a sign that this year’s UltimateBet Aruba Poker Classic goes beyond industry competition.
